Career Assessments
When you are making a career or educational decision, it is important to know some of the key characteristics about yourself that will influence that decision. Clearly understanding your interests, strengths and abilities, personality preferences and what is important will be extremely helpful in making successful choices.
One way to uncover these personal characteristics is to use self-assessment tools. Assessments are designed to help you identify these characteristics and how they relate to school or career goals. A common myth about self-assessment tools is that they tell you what major or career to pursue. While there is no assessment that can determine your perfect career or major, self-assessments can help you clarify choices, discover career options you may not have considered and help you make a choice that is a good fit for you.
Some of the self-assessment tools may be done on your own, but others are done at the Career Center with assistance from a career counselor. Choose one of the links below:

Students are offered an assessment packet as determined by the Career Counselor. Our packet consists of the following inventories:
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – can help you understand your personality preferences and how they relate to career choice.
Self Directed Search – is based on a career theory that people who choose careers that match their interests and skills will most likely be satisfied and successful in their career choice. The Self Directed Search will help you understand how your individual interests and skills relate to career choice.
