Student Activity in the Open Computer
Labs:
- All users of the computer
labs will log in on the designated computer using their A-B Tech ID number.
- All work in the lab
should pertain directly to a class project or assignment.
- Printing Class Assignments: A student may print no more than 2 copies of his work, one for the instructor and one as a
backup copy for the student’s use. There is no charge for printing these items. In Holly, color prints of an assignment may be made. (There is a
charge.)
- Other Printing: Any other printing (internet research, online notes, etc) is limited
to no more than 10 pages per session.
- Scanning—Holly only (to disk): Limit of 10 per day.
(There is a charge.)
- Transparencies—Holly only: Transparency must be purchased in the Lab (color/laserjet, $1.35 each). The
price of the transparency includes the cost of printing and scan.
Student Conduct / Behavior
All students are expected to abide by the
Code of student Conduct* described in the Student Handbook. The following
rules will be observed in the computer lab:
- NO FOOD is allowed in the
lab. Drinks are allowed as long as they are secured with a lid and kept on
the floor.
- Academic work is given
priority over all other usage of computer lab resources.
- The computer lab resources
may not be used for commercial purposes.
- THE FOLLOWING SITES ARE
BANNED: tribe.net, youtube.com AND myspace.com
- Failure to follow these
rules may result in the loss of lab privileges.
Note: All of the statements in
the Code of Student Conduct apply and are important. The following
statements are presented for your reference:
*5. Disobedience – You may not disobey the reasonable
directions of College employees, including administrators, faculty members,
security officers, and other staff employees.
*6. Disorderly Conduct – You may not conduct yourself in a
way which will interrupt the academic mission of the College or which will
disturb the peace of the College.
