Go beyond chord accompaniment and begin finger picking, reading notes, and understanding the fundamentals of music theory. A greater variety of more difficult music will be explored in this intermediate class. You should have taken the beginning class or have a basic knowledge of the guitar, chords and chord charts before enrolling in this class. Bring your guitar to class. Paul Leech, Instructor. Music Composition
Have you ever wanted to compose your own music? In this class, you will learn to read and write music, play rhythms, write chord progressions, and compose melodic lines to accompany them. No previous knowledge is needed, beginners are encouraged to attend. (20 hrs) No fee exemption

Music Composition, Intermediate
In this exciting new class you will learn how to analyze compositions and large scale forms, progressions and altered chords, and apply them to your own compositions. We will also explore different musical styles in history, what makes them different and unique, and how to hear the difference. Basic theory knowledge is necessary; however, there will be a review of chords, scales, functional and tonal harmony. Any instrument and performance level is sufficient. (10 hrs) No fee exemption
