ISO 9001:2008 Internal Quality Auditing

This course teaches participants how to set up and conduct an internal audit of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. Appropriate interpretation of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Requirements and skills needed for effective auditing will be prominently featured. (11 hrs) No fee exemption

Lean Systems: Lean 100

This is an introduction to Lean Systems. Students will learn about the eight wastes and common tools used to reduce their negative impact upon an organization. A factory simulation exercise will illustrate the concepts. Students who successfully complete five out of the six courses in the Lean Systems series will be awarded a Lean Systems Practitioner certificate. The Lean Systems series of courses is composed of Lean 100, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Continuous Flow and Push/Pull Systems, Error Proofing and Setup Reduction, and Total Productive Maintenance. These courses may be taken non-sequentially. (7 hrs) No fee exemption

Six Sigma Green Belt

This is an extensive, statistics-based quality course that focuses on data-driven process improvement. At a minimum, participants must have a solid understanding of high-school level mathematics. Students will learn skills necessary to set up and implement data collection, data analysis, and other associated six sigma improvement activities. Course work will be supplemented with an in-class project. The course content and structure is based upon the course textbook, The Six Sigma Way Team Fieldbook , by Pande, Neuman and Cavanagh. Green Belt Certifications will be granted for successful completion of this course. (49 hrs) No fee exemption

The Kaizen Event

The Kaizen event is a customizable three- to five-day onsite lab focused upon eliminating waste in production or service processes. This short duration, highly focused, cross-functional project dramatically alters the production or service system for the better.
