Creative Non-Fiction Workshop
While most fledgling writers wish to be the greatest novelists and poets in the world, it's non-fiction that offers the most work. Here's a chance to explore working in non-fiction for fun and self-satisfaction. We'll explore the world of newspapers, entertainment weeklies, and magazines while dealing with writing news, biographies, essays, vocational subjects, family histories, journals, blogs, and press releases that might even be read by a local newspaper's events editor. We'll talk about 'the hook,' that necessary turn of phrase that catches the reader in mid-sentence, so they're forced to read, at least to the end of the first line. Peter Loewer, Instructor.
