Art Museum Passes Available For Students, Staff And Faculty

Student Services has purchased a number of annual passes for Asheville Art Museum. A-B Tech students, classes, and employees may borrow the passes for a visit to the museum. The passes will be kept by the chair of Humanities and Fine Arts, Gigi Derballa, and should be checked out and returned to her. You may contact her at gderballa@abtech.edu or 254-1921, Ext. 329.

The Asheville Art Museum's permanent collection has a national reputation for excellence. The Museum also displays many traveling exhibitions, including contemporary landscape art, the paintings of Maud Gatewood, and the photography of Nace Brock. The Museum also displays crafts, films, and other forms of artistic media. Information on upcoming exhibitions and events can be found at www.ashevilleart.org.

Here are some ways you can take advantage of this opportunity:

• A-B Tech instructors can take classes to the Asheville Art Museum.
• A-B Tech students may visit and bring a friend, a date, or family members.
• Employees can take their friends and families.
• Instructors can assign students to visit the museum.
• If there are speakers who will be giving special talks at the museum for an additional charge, instructors might think about asking Dr. Dennis King, Vice President of Student Services, for funds to cover taking a class.
