Phi Theta Kappa Wins Awards At Regional And International Level

A-B Tech's Alpha Upsilon Eta Chapter of the honor society Phi Theta Kappa received numerous honors at the Carolinas Regional Convention March 14-16 in Clemmons and two awards at the international convention April 3-5 in Philadelphia.

Regionally, the society won the following chapter awards: Five-Star Chapter, Super Star, Service Hallmark, Communications award, Clover Leaf Challenge, Yearbook honorable mention, Leadership Hallmark honorable mention, and Most Distinguished Chapter honorable mention.

Student Heather Monroe was honored as a Distinguished Chapter Member. Carolinas Regional Hall of Honor Inductees were Michelle Marcoux, Tennille McElrath and Monroe. Advisor Veronica Dooly, Business Computer Technologies instructor, received the Paragon Award for Advisors and the Horizon Award for Advisors.

Other Phi Theta Kappa students in attendance were Emily Webb, Neil Turner, Mark Dooly, Jennifer Rogers, Jessica Burrell, Grace Harrison, Karvari Ellingson, and Susie Jarman.

At the international conference, Monroe was honored with the Distinguished Member Award, and A-B Tech President Emeritus K. Ray Bailey received the Michael Bennett Lifetime Achievement Award. See the story on Bailey's Award

A-B Tech students attending the international convention were McElrath, Dooly, Rogers, Burrell, Harrison, Ellingson and Jarman. Veronica Dooly also attended.
