Carol Fleming, Library Services Director and Invitational Education Committee Chair, presents Charlie Farmer, Welding Technology Instructor, with a certificate for the September Invitational Education Award.
Charlie Farmer, Welding Technology Instructor, has been named the Invitational Education Award winner for September. Farmer and his students recently completed ornamental ironwork at Fernihurst.
"Charlie is known by his students and colleagues for his dedication to his work," according to his nomination. "Using a scrap remnant from the original building as a guide, Charlie's craftsmanship took over. The ornamental guardrails around the patio and balconies plus handrails on stops have been beautifully crated, keeping the original look from more than 100 years ago."
Nominations for the Invitational Award may be dropped in any student suggestion box or sent in the campus mail to Carol Fleming. The nominations are due by the first day of each month.
Forms are available online as well as by the student suggestion boxes, Records and Registration, the Business Office, Holly Library, and the division offices. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to nominate individuals for the award.
