Small Business Center Receives Grant for International Marketing Program

A-B Tech's Small Business Center received a $1,500 Performance Improvement grant for its Small Business International Marketing Success Program from the State Board of Community Colleges.

The funds will be used to assist the College in becoming a member of and participating with the International FUTURALLIA Forum. "We believe this model of international cooperation and training is the model the Small Business Center should use in our training programs," said Jill Sparks, Small Business Center Director. "This forum gives us access to the international marketplace and thousands of companies worldwide for matchmaking activity."

Companies will be able to develop new export markets for clients and obtain international market research and collaborate with global business leaders in order to forge business-to-business partnerships, according to Sparks.

The FUTURALLIA Association was created in 2000 and unites economic development organizations from various regions around the world. FUTURALLIA aims to develop and foster exchanges between members of its SME (small-medium enterprise) network.

The Small Business Center Network recently identified A-B Tech as one of four Export Centers for the North Carolina Community College System along with Cape Fear, Davidson, and Wake Technical community colleges.

A-B Tech already has an established history of being proactive in the global marketplace in respect to the following:
