Grow the Campus Green Adds Trees and Shrubs to Campus

Judy Borum, Continuing Education Reporting and Compliance coordinator, spruces up the Enka campus as part of Grow the Campus Green April 23. Volunteers spent two-hour shifts planting, weeding, cleaning and watering trees and plants to help beautify A-B Tech.

Scott Jackson, Biology instructor, explains how wide a hole needs to be for planting a tree to Max Queen, Risk Management and Operations vice president. The College planted 10 new trees and several shrubs around Coman, Maple, Ferguson, Holly, and Birch. Early College students from Christine Jones' science class created a water garden, in addition to a butterfly garden and vegetable garden near the gazebo adjacent to the Birch Building.
