To be considered for any position at A-B Tech, applicants must submit a complete A-B Tech application, which includes two (2) completed reference forms, transcripts (if applicable) and a letter of application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the application contains all required documents. All requested information must be received by the deadline date. TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time day and/or evening
DUTIES: Teach a full range of technical skills and principles relative to culinary technology. Apply and maintain sanitation and safety standards and uniform requirements in the classroom and lab environments. Maintain accurate records in required format for audit purposes. All classes are taught on the Main Campus. Classes may be day or evening.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (1) Associate degree in Culinary Technology, Foodservice Technology or related field, (2) Three years professional culinary experience working at upscale facilities in the capacity of Sous Chef or Executive Chef, (3) Computer skills including Word and Excel, Powerpoint and, (4) Eligible for or in possession of American Culinary Federation (ACF) Certification.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Baccalaureate degree in Culinary Arts or related field plus five years experience working at upscale facilities in the capacity of Sous Chef or Executive Chef, (2) Well versed and experience in culinary competitions, (3) Experience teaching in higher educations and, (4) Industry recognized certifications.
SALARY RANGE: Course rates may vary. Course payment is contingent upon meeting all scheduled class/lab hours and fulfilling the adjunct contract for instructional duties. Contact Bronwen McCormick at (828) 254-1921 ext, 226 for more information on salary ranges and hours.
