To be considered for any position at A-B Tech, applicants must submit a complete A-B Tech application, which includes two (2) completed reference forms, transcripts (if applicable) and a letter of application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the application contains all required documents. All requested information must be received by the deadline date. Incomplete applications may not be eligible for consideration.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time, Day classes

DUTIES: Teach courses in Resort and Spa Management. Utilize assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to direct course/curriculum improvements. Prepare syllabi reflecting course objectives and updates as needed. Provide a teaching program that will make full and effective use of all scheduled class/lab time. Maintain students’ records as defined by the North Carolina Community College System including grades, attendance and performance measures.

CORE REQUIREMENTS: (1) Copies of all college transcripts must be received before your applicant can be processed. Official transcripts are required upon employment. (2) Degree(s) held must be from a regionally accredited institution. (3) A letter of application is required in which the minimum qualifications are addressed to demonstrate written communications. (4) All applicants interviewed must be able to demonstrate fluent English speaking skills


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (1) Baccalaureate degree in Resort and Spa Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related field plus one year documented resort/spa work experience OR Associate degree Resort and Spa Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related field plus three years documented managerial work experience in notable resort and spa facilities. (2) Exhibit a positive attitude toward students, the teaching process and serve as a role model of the hospitality profession.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: (1) Master’s degree in Resort and Spa Management, Hotel/Restaurant Management or related field plus one year documented work experience in notable resort and spa facility. (2) Experience teaching in higher education. (3) Computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. (4) Industry recognized certifications

SALARY RANGE: Course rates vary. Course payment is contingent upon meeting all scheduled class hours and fulfilling the adjunct contract for instructional duties. Contact Tambra Luppino, Spa Therapies and Operations Chair at (828) 254-1921, ext.7674 for more information.
