POSITION OPEN: Computer Instructor

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-Time (up to 25 hours per week)

DUTIES: Deliver computer lessons that enable students to develop a moderate comfort level of computer use from basics to intermediate levels using word processing software and an introduction to spreadsheets & presentations. Students will create employment related documents including cover letters, resumes and applications. Teaching assignment is at the Swannanoa Correction Center for Women and includes instructional planning, delivery of lessons and in-depth record keeping of student attendance and progress.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 1) Bachelors degree 2) Formal classroom teaching experience 3) Comfort working in a correctional facility setting 4) Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, basic and intermediate: Word, Excel & PowerPoint, and 5) Strong commitment to and ability to maintain accurate records.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 1) Experience teaching computer skills 2) Experience teaching, counseling, working with adult learners 3) Teaching experience with at-risk individuals, individuals in substance abuse treatment, and/or those under the jurisdiction of the Department of Corrections.

SALARY: $18.39 per hour
