Phi Beta Lambda shines at leadership conference

A-B Tech's chapter of Phi Beta Lambda received seven awards, including three first-place wins, at the state Fall Leadership Development Conference Oct. 23-24 in Greensboro.
The chapter was recognized as a Gold Star Chapter and received first place in the NCPBL "Non-Trivia" contest. Students also received a first-place award for Largest Local Chapter Delegation - Western Region and Largest Professional Division Membership - Western Region.
The chapter won second place for the President's Award for Best Membership Recruitment Display, Largest Chapter Membership - Western Region and the Food Lion Shop and Share "The Chapter Challenge."
Members attending were Chris Addy, Chad Bergin, Avagail Cross, Stephanie Fann, Sonia Hendrix, Sean Hollifield, Brook Inman, Alisha Pacheco, Juliana Schmitt and Sean Warren. Fann was also elected as the Western Region vice president. Hendrix and Fann each presented Leadership Development sessions.
Adviser Kathie Doole, Business Computer Technologies Instructor, also presented Leadership Development sessions and was the keynote speaker at the first general session. Adviser Kathy Toler, Business Administration Instructor, served as a conference developer, organizer and planner.
