A-B Tech Online - I need help using the Discussion Board in Blackboard.
About the Discussion Board
The Discussion Board allows students and instructor to engage in "conversations" on various topics. The topics may be very general, for example you might be asked to just introduce yourself to the class, or very specific, for example in a Humanities course you might be asked to express your views concerning the First Amendment.
The Discussion Board is made up of one or more forums, and each forum covers a general discussion area, for example "Chapter 1", or "Getting Started". Each forum contains one or more threads, and each thread covers a specific topic. So for example a "Getting Started" forum might include a thread "Let's get acquainted" where each student is invited to reply and say something about themselves.
Using the Discussion Board
Click Communication. then Discussion Board. Click on the forum you want to participate in, and read any instructions that the instructor has provided. Review the threads that are listed, and read the current list of responses. Note that you can reply directly the message that introduced the thread, or to someone else's reply so be sure consider this when you are ready to reply. When you are ready to reply to a thread, click the Reply button at the appropriate level within the thread.
If you are asked to create your own thread to reply to a forum topic, click the Thread button to add a new thread. Type your response into the text box and "Submit."
Rules of Behavior
Be sure that your response is clearly worded and directly relevant to the topic. Be sure to use appropriate language and grammar that respects the views and background of others.
