The Business Administration curriculum is designed to introduce students to the various aspects of the free enterprise system. Students will be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions, and processes, and an understanding of business organizations in today’s global economy.

The Business Administration curriculum is designed to introduce students to the various aspects of the free enterprise system. Students will be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions, and processes, and an understanding of business organizations in today’s global economy.

Coursework includes business concepts such as accounting, business law, economics, management, and marketing. Skills related to the application of these concepts are developed through the study of computer applications, communication, team building, and decision-making.

Through these skills, students will have a sound business education base for lifelong learning. Graduates are prepared for employment opportunities in government agencies, financial institutions, and large to small businesses or industries.

Career Opportunities

A variety of employment opportunities is available for Business Administration graduates. These include Small Business Manager, Purchasing Agent, Sales Manager, General Supervisor, Operations Officer, Loan Officer, and Human Resource Assistant. Salary for these positions may range from $25,000 to $35,000 per year.

Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College has an open-door admissions policy. High school graduation or equivalent is normally required for admission to any curriculum. The College accepts applications throughout the year. If a student is in need of financial assistance, they should contact the Financial Aid Office.
