A-B Tech's Hospitality Education Department hosted a culinary and hospitality job fair on January 10 in the Magnolia Building's main dining room for all A-B Tech students.
Second-semester Culinary Arts student Alex Baron attended in hopes of finding summer internship possibilities with a particular interest in Givens Estates.
Employers attending included Annie’s Bakery, Aramark, Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Farms, Givens Estates, Katie Button Restaurants, Lonesome Valley/Canyon Kitchen, Mission Health, Mountaintop Golf and Lake Club, Parks Hotels, Ridgecrest, Tupelo Honey Cafe, Washington Duke Inn, and Wicked Weed.
Danica Cooke, the general manager of Wicked Weed Brewing’s Funkatorium, said they were looking for cooking and brewing staff for the Funkatorium in March. Don Yamauchi, the Executive Chef at Mountain Top, said he was looking to hire 17 people for seasonal help for the front and back of the house during the peak months from July to September.
