Important Message from A-B Tech President

As I shared with you a few months ago, one of A-B Tech’s values is to provide a supportive learning environment, which serves as an umbrella for such important goals as advancing diversity and inclusion, enforcing safety and security, and ensuring tolerance and equal opportunity – in essence, anything that assures every student and employee feels valued, included and empowered.

To this end, the A-B Tech Board of Trustees has approved revisions to our former policies and replaced them with Non-Discrimination and Harassment (111) and Sexual Misconduct (112) policies.

Both policies apply to all members of the A-B Tech community and outline the process for reporting and resolving acts of discrimination. As a point of clarification, Sexual Misconduct includes sexual harassment, sexual violence, stalking, dating or domestic violence and all are viewed as acts of sex or gender-based discrimination.

Non-Discrimination and Harassment Policy Excerpt:

It is the policy of the A-B Tech Board of Trustees that the College is fully committed to providing a learning and work environment that is free from prohibited discrimination.  The College does not practice or condone discrimination or harassment based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, disability, genetic information/medical history, age, political affiliation or veterans’ status in the administration of any of its academic programs and employment practices.

I encourage you to take a few minutes to become familiar with these policies.

Thank you,

Dennis King
