Introduction to Machining Certificate Program for English Language Learners




A-B Tech has a pre-apprenticeship program to introduce English language learners to the fundamentals of machining and manufacturing with classes starting in August.

Workforce Preparation & Introduction to Machining Certificate Program for English Language Learners is designed for students interested in entry-level employment in a local manufacturing company.

The class will be taught Tuesday through Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. starting in the fall semester with orientation evenings on August 16 and 17. Students practice workplace English and learn about working in The United States to prepare for successful employment in local, in-demand jobs.

The hands-on machining program is taught in English by a native-Spanish speaker with supplemental English Language Acquisition classes on Wednesday evenings.
