A-B Tech has recently signed up to offer AMTEC (Advanced Manufacturing Technical Education Collaborative) credentials thanks to the efforts of Daniel Mancuso, Chair of Electrical, Electronics, & Computer Engineering Technologies. Currently, A-B Tech is the only college in North Carolina to offer the opportunity.
AMTEC is a multi-state collaboration of more than 70 industry and educational partners seeking to prepare highly skilled technicians for work in the advanced manufacturing and automobile manufacturing industries. “Daniel’s worked very diligently with these organizations to get these recognitions for the college,” said Vernon Daugherty, Dean of Engineering & Applied Technology.
AMTEC began 15 years ago with a primary focus in automotive manufacturing and today serves advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and high-tech processing industries.
AMTEC’s mission is to create and sustain an innovative, responsive and standards-based workforce development system that meets the advanced manufacturing industry’s skill requirements. AMTEC continues to develop and provide turnkey solutions for producing workers with the technical and critical-thinking skills to analyze issues, solve difficult or complex problems, and manage output.
