The Biology Department’s Annual Plant Sale had its most successful fundraiser so far. “We had a bumper turnout and when the dust cleared, we raised $8,037. This includes $5,037 in plant sales plus a $3,000 matching donation,” said Instructor Joe Allawos.
All the proceeds go directly into the Sarah R. Gnilka Scholarship Fun for Biology students in need of financial assistance. Sarah was a beloved adjunct faculty member who dedicated her career to reaching out to students, encouraging them, and guiding them to become professionals. Work-study student Stephanie Hein was also recognized for her hard work in making the sale a success.
