Presenting the A-B Tech Burger




Christi Cortese, STEP Education Navigator, came up with the recipe for the A-B Tech burger contest in support of building awareness around the theme of Ketchup, Mustard & Pickle for the 2020 Fall PD Day. 

  • Ketchup - folks could catch up on work and/or overdue required training.
  • Mustard - the only requirement was to attend one of the two scheduled General Sessions
  • Pickles – Everyone was to pick at least one online professional development and complete it. 

The burger is a Ground Beef Patty, Duke’s Mayo, IPA-infused Appl,e and Red Onion Jam, Ashe County White Cheddar Cheese on a Toasted Brioche Bun. Served with house-made chips. 

The PD Department has collaborated with the Culinary Arts Department to hold the first-ever A-B Tech Burger Contest.  The Chefs in the Culinary Arts department judged over 15 entries to determine the winner.
