In honor of Women’s History Month, the Humanities and Foreign Language department at A-B Tech invites the public to attend a free screening of the film Equal Means Equal with a panel discussion following from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2 in Ferguson Auditorium on the Asheville Campus.

Panelists Roberta Madden, Angela Stone, and Leslie Boyd will focus on the history of the Equal Rights Amendment and the work of Alice Paul. For more information, please contact Ellen J. Perry, Instructor of Literature and Humanities, at ellenjperry@abtech.edu.

Equal Means Equal offers a look at how women are treated in the United States today. Examining both real-life stories and precedent-setting legal cases, director Kamala Lopez uncovers how outdated and discriminatory attitudes inform and influence seemingly disparate issues, from workplace harassment to domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault to the foster care system, and the healthcare conglomerate to the judicial system.
