  5. During class & lab, cell phones should be silenced upon entering the class or lab setting to minimize disruption. During clinical, cell phones should be silenced and remain out of sight during the clinical day.

  6. All clinical affiliates and client records are confidential in nature. Students are expected to maintain the confidentiality of all hospital records in a professional manner.

  7. Social networking is an important way to stay connected. However, use of social media and networking can violate local, state, and federal laws. The following are the professional standards for an A-B Tech School of Nursing student:

  8. AdvisingThe faculty will review each advisee’s transcript for course completion and program progression. Each semester, the assigned nursing faculty will enter education plans into self-service before the start of registration. A student may request an advising meeting at any time.

  9. For concerns regarding issues with students, faculty, and staff while in the program, follow the chain of command. Document concerns in writing using date, time, place, name, and description of incidents or issues.

  10. In all nursing courses, students must earn an exam grade average of 77% consisting of module exams and the final exam in each course in order to pass the course. Exam averages are not rounded.
