Child Advocacy Studies, or CAST, is a program that focuses on child maltreatment.

Offers an innovative, engagement-based academic curriculum involving:

  • Hands-on experience
  • Practical skill-development
  • A focus on community & career

Prepares graduates to:

  • Recognize variables leading to child maltreatment
  • Identify existing systems that react to child maltreatment
  • Develop a multidisciplinary approach to respond effectively to cases of child abuse & neglect in its varying forms

Course Offerings:

  • CAS-110: Perspectives on Child Maltreatment and Child Advocacy
  • CAS-120: Cultural Awareness and Child Maltreatment
  • CAS-210: Professional and System Responses to Child Maltreatment
  • CAS-220: Responding to the Survivor of Child Abuse

Courses are available in both curriculum and continuing education and are appropriate for individuals in all public services/safety sectors.

Can be completed in one year or less!
