Credit card payment is required when registering for Continuing Education classes online. You may use MasterCard, VISA, or American Express. If you prefer to use cash or a check, you may register by mail or in person. View CE Registration Office: Location, Hours, & Payment Options.

Continuing Education Refund Policy

  • If a student officially withdraws prior to the first class meeting, the student will receive a 100% refund; Motorcycle Safety excluded.
  • If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, a student will receive a 100% refund;
  • A 75% refund will be issued (Self-Supporting classes with prefixes CSP and SEF are excluded) if the student officially withdraws prior to or on the 10% point of the scheduled hours of the class.
  • No refund will be made after the 10% point of the class.
  • The insurance, technology, and supply/lab fees are refundable only if a class is canceled or the student drops before the class begins.
  • Refunds are processed on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Trimming and maintenance of the equine hoof are crucial to the well-being and longevity of animals. Local farrier and instructor David King introduces students to proper trimming and equine hoof health basics. This class covers basic hoof anatomy, mechanics, tool options/usage, theory/practice of safe trimming techniques, and common hoof ailments with two days of live animal practice. Lecture takes place Tuesday nights at the A-B Tech Madison campus. Live practice activity at local partner Heart of Horse Sense on Saturdays. Required Book: Horse Trimming Made Simple, 2nd edition, by Dennis Cappel (ISBN: 978-1793446183) No experience necessary. All tools provided. Release waiver and assumption of risk required. Be prepared to bend or stoop for extended periods. Wear appropriate clothing for variable outdoor weather and stout closed-toe footwear when working with horses. Students of all abilities are welcome to join the Woodworking Basics Shop Class. New students will be introduced to the safe use and proper handling of a wide variety of hand and power tools. They will be taught at first as a group, completing a small project. After that, each student is free to pick a reasonable project with the instructor’s approval, to complete under supervision. The Python programming language was developed to provide a way to develop code that’s easy to create and understand. While Python contains the same basic structures as other languages, it also offers unique functionality that makes your life as a programmer easier. This course will show you how to create basic programming structures like decisions and loops. Then, you will move on to more advanced topics such as object-oriented programming with classes and exceptions. In addition, you will explore unique Python data structures such as tuples and dictionaries.
