  2. Click the “Register” button next to the course title. You will be redirected to Self-Service Instant Enrollment.
  3. Continue through the registration steps as a guest user (no log-in required) to enroll and pay.

Payments:

Credit card payment is required when registering for Continuing Education classes online. You may use MasterCard, VISA, or American Express. If you prefer to use cash or a check, you may register by mail or in person. View CE Registration Office: Location, Hours, & Payment Options.

Refunds:

  • If a student officially withdraws prior to the first class meeting, the student will receive a 100% refund; Motorcycle Safety is excluded.
  • If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, a student will receive a 100% refund.
  • A 75% refund will be issued (Self-Supporting classes with prefixes CSP and SEF are excluded) if the student officially withdraws prior to or on the 10% point of the scheduled hours of the class.
  • No refund will be made after the 10% point of the class.
  • The insurance, technology, and supply/lab fees are refundable only if a class is canceled or the student drops before the class begins.
  • Refunds are processed on the 1st and 15th of each month.

From Baked Vegetables and Mozzarella, Creamy Chicken and Spinach with Pasta made by you and Lentil Soup Lebanese Style. Each session explores simple techniques that bring big flavor to your table. Perfect for home cooks who love good food and want to add more sunshine your meals. Wear non-slip shoes and bring a chef knife, paring knife, measuring cups/spoons, wooden spoon, and spatula. Be prepared to take home samples in your own containers. Each student will clean their cooking station, light sweeping and spot mopping along with washing dishes and gathering trash. This course covers the skills required to provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with trauma-informed care, community engagement, and self-care. Emphasis is placed on knowledge of common signs of trauma responses in individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, strategies to maintain trust with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and techniques to advocate respectfully and effectively for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Upon completion, students should be able to apply trauma-informed principles, effectively recognize trauma responses, apply practice methods to ensure the safety of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and recognize common indicators of stress and burnout. This course is specific to curriculum materials approved by the NC DHHS Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Services.
