This course begins with the fundamental technology used in creating parts with composite material and goes all the way through producing molds for fabricating composite parts. Those with the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of composites can create items including: accessories or full body build outs of vehicles ranging from bicycles to airplanes; medical prosthetics; artwork; home decor and more. Curriculum includes but is not limited to warp and fill orientation, resin bleeder schedule, designing and cutting material using a ply cutter, layup and curing material in an autoclave, safety procedures, and an introduction to composite repair. Class culminates in students designing and producing their own project.
