A-B Tech Firefighter/EMT Academy
From the Classroom to the Call – We will train you. We will be your first step to the Front Line.
The Firefighter/EMT Academy at A-B Tech Woodfin is designed to take you from Zero training to Hero training in under a year.
No prior training is required, and most students are eligible for free tuition. Classes run during daytime hours, Monday through Friday.
The Fire portion of the academy starts every February and August with a few different options for EMT.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will earn the following North Carolina state certifications:
- Firefighter
- Hazardous Materials (Operations Level)
- Emergency Vehicle Driver
- Rapid Intervention Crew (RIC)
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
