A-B Tech Welcomes International Students!
A-B Tech welcomes students from all countries interested in pursuing a diploma or associate degree in many fields of study. A-B Tech has been approved to issue I-20 forms for qualified international applicants seeking F-1 or M-1 status. Noncitizens other than F-1/M-1 students (Permanent Residents, Refugees, other visas, individuals with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or Undocumented Individuals) may review documentation requirements on the Noncitizen Applicant's page. Students may choose from a wide selection of diploma and associate degree programs. If you do not find a program of interest at A-B Tech, please visit Study in the States to find a school that fits your needs.
English proficiency is required and must be documented by TOEFL or IELTS scores. A-B Tech does offer an intensive English as a Second Language Program (ESL). It is not for credit and students must already be living in Asheville to attend. A-B Tech has not been approved to issue I-20s for study in the ESL program.
Proof of Financial Support & Cost of Attendance
Most noncitizen students, such as international students with F-1 or M-1 visas, are not eligible for financial aid and will be required to pay out-of-state tuition rates. Information about eligible noncitizens who can potentially qualify for federal financial aid is available on the U.S. federal government's Student Aid website. International students on an F-1 or M-1 student visa must be enrolled full-time and must show proof of financial support sufficient to cover out-of-state tuition, fees, books, supplies, living and travel expenses for a minimum of one year of study. The estimated annual cost of attendance is $24,000 US Dollars. Please add an additional $5,000 for each dependent accompanying the student.
If you are interested in applying as an international student, please review our International Admission Requirements.
