Chris Hamilton moved to Asheville five years ago knowing he wanted to go to school and study computers. “I happened to find A-B Tech and I loved it,” he said,
He graduated with two degrees in Cyber Security and Network. Through college, he was able to get his first internship at Givens Estates in the IT department.
“It was wonderful learning experience,” Hamilton said. “The teachers here were great. I was able to achieve my CCNA certification. I was really proud that and A-B Tech helped me.”
Hamilton landed a full-time position in the Network Operations Center at Immedion in Asheville. “It’s a data center. I help people install and manage servers. It’s all really cool stuff,” he said.
He especially credits instructors Drake Thomas and Nathan Pfieffer. “They really helped propel me into a career,” Hamilton said, “Drake is passionate about what he does and puts in his students. It’s even reflected in my job. The skills I learned here were very impactful.”
