A-B Tech Community College announced the continuation of its Trailblazer Promise scholarship to cover tuition and fees for students who enroll this fall. The college also set its annual Find Your Future College Expo for Thursday, July 21.
The A-B Tech Trailblazer Promise Scholarship, which was established last year using COVID-19 emergency relief funds, covers up to $1,500 of tuition and fees for students who enroll in Fall Semester classes. Students may qualify simply by enrolling in one to 12 credit hours of academic classes and completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by August 19.
“The ability to cover tuition and fees for our students is an opportunity to transform people’s lives and the economic health of our region,” said A-B Tech President John D. Gossett. “We received millions of dollars from federal and state funding sources to help the college and students recover from the impacts of COVID-19. We’re using the Trailblazer Promise and other relief funds to invest in our students’ futures by removing barriers and enabling them to pursue their college education debt-free.”
Additional funds are available to assist students who graduated from North Carolina high schools in 2022 and adults who enroll in the workforce and continuing education classes. The college also has emergency funds to assist students with other expenses such as childcare, technology, and transportation costs.
A-B Tech’s Find Your Future College Expo is an opportunity for prospective students to explore academic and career training programs, and tour facilities, meet faculty and advisers, apply for the Trailblazer Promise or other financial aid, and enroll in fall classes. The free event will be held on the Asheville campus on Thursday, July 21 from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. and is open to the public. Fall Semester classes begin on August 22. Learn more at Welcome to A-B Tech.
