Student Clinic Client Information (please read thoroughly).
- Calendar: Our Student Clinic Massage sessions will begin on April 13, 2025, until June 20, 2025. Sessions are available on Thursdays and Fridays weekly.
- Appointment Times: 9:20 a.m., 10:45 a.m. or 12:50 p.m. You must arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointments to make your payment and to complete paperwork for our clinic.
- Booking Your Session: We encourage you to book your session(s) on our new Online Booking Platform (Link at the bottom of the page) or you may call (828) 398-7624 to book your appointment.
- Your Massage Experience: At our Student Clinic, you as a client will receive a 55-minute table massage in Swedish Technique, yet tailored weekly with a variety of focuses that the students are learning and exploring during their classroom time. Exploration of a variety of techniques can include deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, craniosacral therapy, joint mobilization with PNF stretching, and of course relaxation massage.
- Benefits of Massage Therapy: Some of the benefits of receiving relaxation and therapeutic massage can include an overall sense of personal wellness, calmness, and increased flexibility. In receiving a massage, the circulatory system can be facilitated into proper blood flow and assisted metabolic toxin removal, the nervous system can be calmed into a wonderful sense of peacefulness and clarity, and the musculatory system can release tension, pain, and tightness... just to name a few.
- Payment Options: A Student Clinic Massage contribution of $35.00 in Cash, Check, or Credit Card is accepted at the location and time of service rendered. Please arrive to your appointment prepared to pay in the requested method or your appointment will be canceled.
- Address: 10 Genevieve Circle, Asheville ( A-B Tech Asheville Campus).
- Parking: Reserved parking spots for Student Clinic Clients are located in front of the building. Follow the sign to the designated spaces.
- Location: Room 242 (2nd floor) of the Ferguson Center for Allied Health and Workforce Development building.
- Our Facility: We have a very nice facility consistent with other programs in the area. The students' workspace consists of a heated massage table, a salt lamp, and hangers for hanging your clothes. Each workspace contains curtains around the table to ensure client privacy. The curtains are partially opened during the massage session to allow the instructor to facilitate the students during their clinic time. Spa music is playing in the background as we encourage and maintain a quiet respectful healing space for all.
- Inappropriate Conduct: In both excessive conversation and unprofessional behavior conducted toward a student during the session will result in immediate termination of the session, and future sessions will not be permitted.
- Draping Etiquette: As massage is a 'primarily dis-robed practice' with maintained proper draping at all times, clients must wear underpants to receive a Clinical Massage at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. Individuals must be 18 years old or older to receive massage services.
- Scope of Practice: Instructors and Student Therapists who partake in the A-B Technical Community College Clinical Massage Program, will NOT diagnose any illness or disease. We will assess your clinical massage needs and perform a clinical therapeutic and relaxing massage accordingly. Please consult a primary healthcare physician prior to receiving a therapeutic or clinical massage.
- Cancelations: Everyone enjoys the opportunity to get a massage. Feel free to place your name and number on our waitlist for any cancellations. If you cannot make the appointment or will be more than 5 minutes late, please call us to cancel.
- Win-Win: Students gain so much experience by practicing these massage sessions on clients, it is very important to show up on time. Clients gain a wonderful massage at an affordable price. It is a win-win situation when everyone does their part. Thank you!
