This endowment was established in 2004 by Nick and Deborah Giardina. It was established in memory of their son Johnathan Giardina (1970-2003), a former A-B Tech student enrolled in the Emergency Medical Science (EMS) program. It is awarded to two students enrolled in the Emergency Medical Science (EMS) program (one first-year EMS student and renewable to a second-year student). Johnathan started his studies at A-B Tech in 1999. He was also a member of the Buncombe County Rescue Squad, where he served as captain of the EMS division.
The scholarship application process for Foundation scholarships begins January – April.
