The A-B Tech School of Nursing offers an optional open lab to all students. All students should utilize the skill labs. If a student’s lab performance is unsatisfactory, it is recommended that the student attend all available open labs.

Students are expected to have a current account with CastleBranch and are expected to maintain accurate records. Clinical requirements should be updated prior to expiration. Students will be asked to present current clinical documents to clinical faculty.
The student must receive a satisfactory clinical performance evaluation for all clinical components of the course. Clinical will be graded as “Satisfactory” or “Unsatisfactory”. A clinical grade of “unsatisfactory” is equivalent to a grade of “F” for the course.
The North Carolina Board of Nursing requires that all nursing students are provided with practicum experience in the final year of the program.

Students must demonstrate the ability to meet certain functional abilities at the time of acceptance into the nursing program and while enrolled in all nursing courses. A nursing student must demonstrate the physical and psychological ability to provide safe, competent client care.
