Payments:

Credit card payment is required when registering for Continuing Education classes online. You may use MasterCard, VISA, or American Express. If you prefer to use cash or a check, you may register by mail or in person. View CE Registration Office: Location, Hours, & Payment Options.

Refunds:

  • If a student officially withdraws prior to the first class meeting, the student will receive a 100% refund; Motorcycle Safety is excluded.
  • If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, a student will receive a 100% refund.
  • A 75% refund will be issued (Self-Supporting classes with prefixes CSP and SEF are excluded) if the student officially withdraws prior to or on the 10% point of the scheduled hours of the class.
  • No refund will be made after the 10% point of the class.
  • The insurance, technology, and supply/lab fees are refundable only if a class is canceled or the student drops before the class begins.
  • Refunds are processed on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Get prepared now for Remote Online Notarization, signed into law effective July 1, 2023. This course provides instruction to currently commissioned notaries who want to expand their existing qualifications to include remote online notarization. Topics include legal, ethical and procedural requirements of the Notary Act. Upon completion of this course with a passing exam grade of 80%, a person is eligible to make application with the NC Secretary of State office for eNotary status. Textbook: NC Electronic Notarization Manual required. Students must have a current notary commission, and must present a current valid photo ID to be admitted to class.

This course will provide an overview of preventive control considerations that supports the FSMA Final Rules for Preventive Controls for Human and Animal Food. Identifying the appropriate preventive control is critical in preventing the hazard from occurring and is a pillar concept behind the new FSMA Preventive Control Rules. An overview of preventive controls will be discussed including process controls, food allergen controls, sanitation controls, supply-chain controls, recall plans, and the relationship of preventive controls and critical control points (CCPs).

The Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-based Preventive Controls for Human Food regulation (referred to as the Preventive Controls for Human Food regulation) is intended to ensure safe manufacturing/processing, packing and holding of food products for human consumption in the United States. The regulation requires that certain activities must be completed by a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) who has successfully completed training in the development and application of risk-based preventive controls. This course, developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), is the standardized curriculum recognized by FDA; successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a PCQI. This course is taught by Lead Instructors trained by the FSPCA, who have been instructed in how to teach the FDA-recognized standardized curriculum. To successfully complete the 3-day course, a participant must be present for the entire delivery and actively participate in the exercises.

Based on curriculum created by the Maker’s Coalition and the Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center, this class is designed to provide students with an understanding of the skills required to take a career path in the field of industrial sewing. Class content includes but is not limited to: industrial sewing terms, fabric structures and types, how to read tech packs, basic sewing skills, techniques for industrial straight stitch, coverstitch and overlock machine usage. Each student will learn construction techniques while completing different projects, developing skills with different materials provided. <p>The benefits of drones are difficult to ignore, fueling the adoption of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology in some of the economy’s largest sectors, including construction, utilities, security, real estate, and research. Commercial or non-hobby-related drone operations require a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA with a Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) rating. This course will prepare you to sit for the required FAA knowledge exam and increase the likelihood of earning your certification. The exam is not part of the course. The course also introduces disability history and culture and explains the real-world benefits of accessible design.
