Credit card payment is required when registering for Continuing Education classes online. You may use MasterCard, VISA, or American Express. If you prefer to use cash or a check, you may register by mail or in person. View CE Registration Office: Location, Hours, & Payment Options.

Continuing Education Refund Policy

  • If a student officially withdraws prior to the first class meeting, the student will receive a 100% refund; Motorcycle Safety excluded.
  • If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, a student will receive a 100% refund;
  • A 75% refund will be issued (Self-Supporting classes with prefixes CSP and SEF are excluded) if the student officially withdraws prior to or on the 10% point of the scheduled hours of the class.
  • No refund will be made after the 10% point of the class.
  • The insurance, technology, and supply/lab fees are refundable only if a class is canceled or the student drops before the class begins.
  • Refunds are processed on the 1st and 15th of each month.

This class is designed for those who have completed Nature’s Notebook I and experience in botanical drawing. You will continue looking into the natural world using pencils, pen and ink, and watercolor. There is further exploration into graphics such as making greeting cards and stationary logos, silverpoint, collage, and even scanning leaves, flowers, and shells, not to mention the various artistic philosophies of other cultures. Come and experience the world of stained glass with a veteran stained glass artist who will teach you how to cut glass, work with copper foil, the proper way to solder, and pattern design. You will be introduced to the tools of the trade, as well as most of the materials including various types of glass. When you have completed this course you will have several finished projects to show, as well as a mastery of the basic skills used in the craft of stained glass. We welcome all beginners from those with no experience to a very elementary knowledge. Tools and supplies will cost $100-$150.

A deeper look into music theory and how it applies to the modern world. Emphasis on training the ear to hear challenging melodies as well as basic chord progressions. Topics include classical major and minor scales, the modes, and the blue notes, as well as spelling chords and chordal extensions. We will also discuss the historical development of all of these concepts and how they apply to all genres of music.

The course provides actual motorcycle operator training in a controlled, off-street environment. To receive the NC Motorcycle Safety Education Program endorsement card, you must attend one hundred percent of all scheduled course hours and successfully complete the skills evaluation on Sunday afternoon. Have you taken a few beginning clay classes and want to understand pottery studio processes and are ready for a little more beyond beginning techniques? In this class you will still be working on the basics but you will also broaden your knowledge of pottery forms and glazes. French III will be a continuation of levels I and II, as you progress to build vocabulary and expand your language learning. Building from the Beginning series, students explore grammar and practical scenarios that will lead to better conversational skills. Concepts covered include irregular preterit and stem changing verb conjugation, possessive and demonstrative adjectives, and topical vocabulary. Prerequisite: Beginning Spanish Conversation or equivalent proficiency. Textbook: Spanish Now! Level 1 - Eighth Edition. Course covers chapters 17, 18, 20, 27, and 29 from the book.
