Criminal Background Investigations/Drug Screening FAQ


All students going to clinical will need drug and background screenings due to clinical rotations.

 

What is the cost of the background investigation/drug screening?

Beginning Jan. 5th, 2015 students entering the NAI or NAII are required to have a background check and drug screening prior to clinical. The cost is $62.50 and the student will be responsible for payment. The investigation will not be initiated until after the payment is received. No refunds for Background investigations or Drug screens.

 

How soon does the background investigation/drug screening need to be completed?

The background investigation/drug screening must be completed approximately 3 weeks before going to clinical. It cannot be started prior to class beginning. No refunds for Background investigations or Drug screens.

 

What happens if a clinical facility will not allow me to participate in the clinical experience?

If any clinical facility refuses to allow a student to participate in the clinical experience, for any reason, the student will not be able to progress in the program. Healthcare facilities typically use the same criteria for allowing students to participate in clinical rotations as they do for hiring employees.

 

What is the A-B Tech refund policy if I am denied the clinical experience after I register for a course?

If a decision that will prevent the student from attending clinical is made (by the clinical site) after class meets 10% of its scheduled time - (16 hours) - the student will not be eligible for a refund and will not be able to attend clinical or continue in the program. No refunds for Background investigations or Drug screens.

Wolfe, Inc. is located in Asheville, NC, the company contracted with A-B Tech Community College, provides employment screening services.
