The Human Services Studies Diploma provides you with an introduction to the Human Services Technology curriculum which prepares students for positions in social, community, and educational services. This pathway is designed as an introduction to careers in various agencies and programs in the field of Human Services which provides services to individuals, families, or communities. This diploma leads to the Associate’s Degree which prepares students for entry-level positions in institutions and agencies that provide social, community, and educational services. Along with core courses, students take courses that prepare them for specialization in specific human services areas. After completing the diploma, students would need to complete approximately 38 additional credit hours for the Associate’s Degree which should qualify them for positions in mental health, child care, family services, social services, rehabilitation, correction, and educational agencies.

 

* Transfers to UNC System schools and most of the private colleges/universities in the state, with a C or higher in the course. Often carries AP level weight in the high school GPA.
