Our Stem Tutoring is located in the lower level of the library (Locke) on the A-B Tech Asheville Campus map.
You are eligible to use a tutoring lab if you are enrolled in an A-B Tech course. We do ask that you sign into the labs upon arrival for our record keeping.
Stem tutoring is a drop-in service (no appointments). We will work with you as soon as we can after you have indicated that you are ready with your questions. We frequently work with more than one student at a time, and you will be expected to do some independent work to demonstrate understanding while we address another student’s question.
We will tutor you using skills exercises designated by your instructor or our own reference materials. We will answer questions about the material (such as a graded test) which has already been checked by your instructor.
We will not work on or provide answers for your homework or graded coursework. Tutors will help you learn the skills necessary to complete your coursework successfully on your own.
Call (828) 398-7228 for more information.
The Math and Science labs are for tutoring only and is not a quiet study hall. If you need a quiet place to complete homework assignments, the library or an empty classroom is available.
Please Note: If The College Is Closed, Zoom And Face-To-Face Tutoring Services Are Closed. This includes inclement weather and holidays.

Thinkingstorm is A-B Tech’s online tutoring service. All enrolled students have access, but it is especially useful for students in online and hybrid courses. Thinking is free to all students. To access Thinkingstorm, please look for a puzzle piece within your course’s Moodle page. Once you click that link you will have the option to join a live session, make an appointment, or join the appointment.
Please note: You should not be asked to create an account or give credit card information. If the puzzle piece is not in the course, please let the director of the Center for Academic Achievement work with the instructor to get it added.
