ELI-4 Graduates Latest Cohort




On Friday March 17, A-B Tech graduated 15 cohort members who participated in the Executive Leadership Institute program. This was the first time that the program extended over two years.

A-B Tech is proud of our ELI-4 cohort who have successfully completed the College’s leadership development program, designed to prepare employees for future leadership roles. The total number of employees who have participated in the program since its inception to over 75.

Members of ELI were split into three small groups and given Action Learning Projects. Each project was designed to be aligned with the strategic goals of the College. 

Inclusiveness -  Creating a method for faculty and staff to learn about all that is happening at our college

·        Mentor Program for New Employees – the group decided to focus just on new full-time faculty for the pilot

·        Members: Allison Seidel, Paula Covert, Marie Eller, and James Atkinson

Operational Effectiveness - Improving College Processes

·        Updating the Faculty Handbook - the group decided to recreate the faculty handbook on the portal

·        Members: Laurie Manley, Dana Moore, Sandy Dantone and Marlene Frisbee

Strategic Enrollment Management - Creating pathways between Continuing Education and Curriculum

·        Develop a template for awarding Curriculum credit for Continuing Education courses

Shelley White - Strategic Enrollment Management

  • There is strength in having a cross-functional/departmental team working together to solve & improve college-wide issues.
  • The team grew overtime working to build each other’s strengths and give everyone an opportunity to learn something new or grow during the process.
  • Their work will have a lasting impact on the institution, helping to create more pathways for student success.

Terry Brasier – Faculty Handbook

  • From the start, the team exuded a positive and collaborative approach to identifying a pragmatic need that would have a wide-ranging positive impact.
  • The team was always open to and respective of feedback from both other team members and other outside resources, including myself 
  • The team formulated a doable and practical project and has made it sustainable.
  • Laurie Manley was an excellent presenter on behalf of the team.

Kaye Schmidt – Mentoring

  • The group was engaged, organized, and thoughtful in their approach to developing the pilot program. 
  • They spent time researching other programs and set realistic goals to offer mentoring to a sub-set of our employee population – our faculty.
  • Their approach was collaborative, and work was shared among the members to develop materials and modules to serve as an on-boarding guide for the new faculty.
