NC Phi Beta Lambda held the 2019 State Leadership Conference in Charlotte earlier in April. Students Max Sarafin, Rose Easterday, Aaron Katzenberger, Victoria Beuhler, David Lore, and Angela Lore represented A-B Tech. Every student was placed in every event in which they competed.
Our students competed with up to 20 others in each event from schools like Appalachian State, University of Mount Olive, Belmont Abbey, Western Carolina University, Wake Tech, Durham Tech, and many more. The top 8 places are recognized. The top 2 or 3 (depending on the event) automatically qualify for nationals.

- Job Interview — 6th – Max Sarafin
- Local Chapter Annual Business Report — 4th – Chapter Award
- Macroeconomics — 5th – Rose Easterday
- Management Concepts — 7th – Victoria Buehler
- Ogranzational Behavior & Leadership — 7th- Victoria Buehler
- Personal Finance — 2nd – Angela Lore
- Sports Management & Marketing — 1st
- Gold Seal Chapter — recognition as 1 of the top 5 chapters in the state
- The Legacy Leadership Award — recognition for comprehensiveness of programs
- Max and Aaron were named to Who’s Who in NC PBL. Angela will be the NC inductee to the National PBL Who’s Who for 2019. Only the top student in the state is inducted at the national level.
Students can also participate in leadership lectures that earn a leadership certificate at the conference.
