A memorial tree planting was held on March 27 to remember Stephen Hilderbrand, Chair of the Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics Systems Technology, and Electrical Engineering programs in the Division of Engineering and Applied Technology. Four redbud trees and a plaque were dedicated in his honor. Stephen served A-B Tech from July 8, 2013, until his passing on July 3, 2016. Stephen’s wife, Susana, is an adjunct biology instructor at the college and was in attendance. Division Dean Vernon Daugherty and Adjunct Instructor, Malcom “Mac” McCormick, spoke about Stephen before unveiling the plaque, which is located adjacent to the Mission Health/A-B Tech Conference Center. The trees were donated by Arbor Zen Hardwood Flooring.
