Community members voted A-B Tech Best College/University and Best Vocational School for the fourth consecutive year in the Best of Asheville 2026 Awards announced today.
Best of Asheville recognizes local businesses, people, places and organizations across Asheville and Western North Carolina. This year’s contest drew 255,868 votes with 1,834 businesses nominated and 394 winners recognized.
The annual community choice awards program, presented by Asheville Media Group in partnership with Lusso Realty, includes an open nomination period, public voting, and recognition in the annual Best of Asheville magazine.
“Best of Asheville is driven by the community,” said Tom Davis, market president for Asheville Media Group. “Each nomination and vote represents someone taking the time to recognize a local business, organization or person they believe stands out in Western North Carolina.”
A-B Tech President John Gossett said the college is proud to have been selected by the community. “We’re dedicated to serving the community through our academic, workforce, continuing education, and adult education programs,” he said. “We have approximately 23,000 students a year across our programs and have made a significant economic impact in Western North Carolina since A-B Tech was founded in 1959.”
