Established by Garrett Earhart in memory of his wife, Melissa Oglesbee. Melissa was a 2010 graduate of the A-B Tech Veterinary Technology program. She graduated at the top of her class. She was caring, forgiving, honest, and always real. She also had a giant heart and was eager to make the world a little better than she found it. She was a respected, highly skilled, and deeply caring technician, having spent her last working years at the Animal Hospital of North Asheville. Unfortunately, Melissa passed away on December 10, 2021, after a long battle with brain cancer. This scholarship is provided to deserving students enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program who, like Melissa, have a passion for helping and making a difference in the lives of others.
The scholarship application process for 2025-26 Foundation scholarships is open from February 1 to April 18.
