In this episode, Duane Adams is joined by Bruce Waller, one of Asheville’s most dynamic entrepreneurial leaders. Bruce is the founder of Kairos Carolina Digital, a Black‑owned digital marketing agency based in the River Arts District that helps small businesses, nonprofits, and local organizations grow through smart, results‑driven strategies like SEO, social media marketing, and lead generation.
Bruce is also the co‑owner of GRIND AVL, Asheville’s first Black‑owned coffee shop. More than a café, GRIND AVL has become a powerful community hub and coworking space dedicated to supporting and connecting Black entrepreneurs. Through GRIND and his leadership with Black Wall Street AVL, Bruce is helping rebuild an ecosystem that uplifts BIPOC‑owned businesses while creating space for collaboration, visibility, and shared economic growth.
During the conversation, Bruce shares insights from both sides of his work — digital strategy and community building. Listeners will hear about common marketing gaps that hold businesses back, what entrepreneurs should prioritize in the coming year, and the mindset shifts that can make or break a founder’s journey. Bruce also reflects on the impact of GRINDFest, the importance of mentorship, and what excites him most about the future of Asheville’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
This episode is a powerful reminder that entrepreneurship isn’t just about profit — it’s about purpose, access, and creating pathways for others to thrive.
