Asheville, NC (WLOS) — Asheville-Buncombe Technical College celebrated the accomplishments of its newest class of law enforcement officers on Dec. 18, honoring 20 graduates who completed the school’s Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program.
The graduation ceremony highlighted the hard work, dedication, and growth shown by each student throughout the rigorous training process. Program leaders emphasized that the event was not only a milestone for the graduates but also a moment to acknowledge their commitment to serving the community.
All 20 graduates have already secured positions with local law enforcement agencies, A-B Tech said.
Daryl Fisher, Director of Law Enforcement Training, noted that this class earned a remarkable distinction.
“We also had the distinction in this class of having the highest grade point average that I've seen since 2012,” Fisher said.
Fisher added that he was "deeply proud of this year’s graduates and hopes they take what they learned at A-B Tech, continue building upon it, and never stop seeking opportunities to grow in their law enforcement careers."
