The Arts & Sciences Student Showcase is our annual celebration of student learning and creativity across the division. With generous support from Appalachian GEAR UP, which serves students and families in rural Western North Carolina, and from our Behavioral Sciences faculty, we are able to highlight the outstanding work taking place in our Arts & Sciences classrooms.
The showcase shines a light on the depth and diversity of student inquiry. From exploring human behavior and evaluating physics research to examining literature, biological processes, and the AA/AS capstone, students investigate meaningful questions and reflect on their place in the world.
Each project is developed with guidance from the dedicated Arts and Sciences faculty and is designed to help students go deeper in their disciplines while building essential communication skills. Through research, reflection, and presentation, students practice articulating ideas, analyzing evidence, and sharing their work with an authentic audience—key experiences that support preparation for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
New this year, the showcase includes a virtual format hosted on the College’s website, making it easier for students and faculty across courses and class formats to participate and engage with the work being shared. This website is the Online student showcase. Enjoy!
