A-B Tech is 60 this year, and we had a celebration on January 16 in the A-B Tech/Mission Health Conference Center. We had a chance to hear from President King, former President K. Ray Bailey, Dean Kenet Adamson, SGA President William Clinton, and SGA Vice President Michael McCrennan, who paid tribute to Dr. King and former President Harvey Haynes and celebrated 60 years in video, pictures, and stories.
Philip Cooper, UpSkill WNC Coordinator; Samantha Justice, Career Navigator; and Cindy Messer, Workforce Partnerships and Outreach Director, attended a group meeting with Charlotte Works and the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s office on how to integrate NCWorks and WIOA services to justice-involved individuals prior to release.

The Asheville Radio Museum, located on the campus of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, and home to North Carolina’s premier teaching museum and collection of historic radios.
Asheville Tea Company, a member of A-B Tech’s Small Business Incubation program, received an honorable mention in the Made in NC Awards sponsored by Our State Magazine and was a finalist in the 2020 World Tea Best of Awards.
