  8. This course introduces the essential elements of roadway components and design. Topics include subgrade and pavement construction, roadway drawings and details, drainage, superelevation, and N.C. Department of Transportation Standards.

  9. This course covers the basic elements of air navigation, fundamentals of pilotage and dead reckoning, and the use of a plotter, computer, and aerial charts. Topics include pilotage, dead reckoning, radio navigation, LORAN, Global Positioning Systems, and the use of FAA publications.
